Don't forget to put your clocks forward & TEST your RCD's

The RCD's (residual current devices) in your fuse box are life saving devices that in the event of a fault, instead of the current going through your body the RCD will cut the electricity OFF in milliseconds.
These should be tested by YOU every 6 months. The ideal time for this is when British Summer Time (BST) begins & ends. (when the clocks go forward & back) doing this at this time is a recommendation set out in the UK Electrical Regulations 2022 (BS7671).
This test will switch off your power so you will have to reset all the clocks on your electrical appliances for example your oven clock, microwave clock and Heating Controls which you will have to do anyway hence this is the best time to do this and test your RCD's are still WORKING!

To do this simply press the test button or buttons in you fuse box and then reset them, the test buttons may be a different colour the one pictured but it will in all cases say TEST on or near it.

If doing this test does NOT cause the RCD to trip the contact your local electrician, You and your loved ones may be at risk.
