This outdoor socket might look fine at a glance — but it's missing a vital safety feature: it wasn’t earthed.

The issue was first spotted by a safety-conscious hot tub hire company in Pocklington. Before plugging in their equipment, they used a simple plug-in socket tester. The tester flagged a fault, and the company rightly refused to use the socket. Instead, they found a correctly wired outlet inside the property and safely connected the hot tub there.

KH Electrical was then called in to inspect and resolve the issue. We made sure the outdoor socket was properly installed and earthed — bringing it up to safety standards.
